Queen of Hearts Ball & Casino Night fundraiser will shed light on latest research and advances in treatments and raise funds to help prevent and cure the disease.
New York, NY – February 9, 2016 – CareOne, a premier, family-owned health care company, will host the Queen of Hearts Ball & Casino Night fundraiser on Tuesday, February 9th at Guastavino’s in New York City to raise funds to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s (BCRF) efforts to eradicate breast cancer, the second leading cause of cancer death in American women.
As New Jersey’s largest privately owned post-acute and long-term care provider, and one of the largest privately owned health care companies in the United States, CareOne’s commitment to quality care is embodied by its 15,000 employees within 52 care centers across six states. Each year, CareOne selects a charitable organization to support, with past initiatives totaling nearly $5 million in fundraisers for organizations including: Superstorm Sandy relief efforts, Boston’s One Fund, The Valerie Fund Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, and many others.
CareOne has raised over $1.5 million for this event. The funds will be used to fuel discoveries in tumor biology, genetics, prevention, treatment, survivorship and metastasis.
“For nearly 20 years, we’ve been providing exceptional care for our patients, prioritizing their health and well-being and striving to provide superior clinical outcomes across our continuum of care,” said philanthropist, chairman and CEO of CareOne Management, LLC, Daniel E. Straus. “Philanthropy is something which my parents Joseph and Gwendolyn dedicated their lives to, and something my daughter Elizabeth and I are incredibly passionate about. We are honored to support the great efforts of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and proud to do our part in finding a cure for this devastating disease that claims the lives of so many.”
“Daniel and his daughter Elizabeth are propelling BCRF’s vision forward, faster. Their very significant investment in breast cancer research will go far in helping to bring about prevention and a cure for this disease, which touches so many lives and families,” said Myra Biblowit, President and CEO of BCRF. “The Queens of Hearts Ball & Casino Night is one of the most successful fundraising events ever undertaken by an independent group on behalf of BCRF—CareOne’s dedication is clear. BCRF is honored to be the beneficiary of their philanthropy, which is truly changing the future.”
In addition to hearing about BCRF’s innovative research efforts, attendees will enjoy a Prohibition Era theme, inclusive of 1920’s-inspired cocktails, music and entertainment, a gourmet buffet dinner and casino games.
All proceeds raised at the Queen of Hearts Ball & Casino Night will go directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. BCRF is the nation’s highest rated breast organization and the largest private funder of breast cancer research worldwide. By investing 91 cents of every dollar directly into its mission, BCRF is also one of the nation’s most fiscally responsible nonprofits.
“The commitment made by CareOne, Daniel E. Straus and his family is incredibly inspiring. They are second to none. We are thrilled to have CareOne and the Straus family join us in our mission to put breast cancer out of business,” said Leonard A. Lauder, honorary Chairman of BCRF.
Those passionate about finding a cure for breast cancer can attend the event on February 9th by registering here. Cost is $250 per ticket and tickets are tax deductible.
